TIMO Tuesday #5 and #6

TIMO embodies the missionary spirit of flexibility which adapts to meet the needs of a given situation. Yet, there are twelve core values found among any TIMO team.

5. Living Among Those to Whom We Seek to Minister. A logical outgrowth of commitment to local language, to learning culture, and to lifestyle evangelism is living where we minister.

6. We Bring Learner Attitudes. Indeed, we know something “they” don’t, and the Lord will provide opportunities to share our knowledge of the gospel. But if we are serious about learning language and culture and earning the right to be heard, then we must come as students and learners rather than as experts.

Jeremy and I are excited to actually live among the San Bushman and learn from them. They have so much to teach us because everything will be new to us. And we will be able to pass some of what we learn to you all through this blog. The blogs entries should get more interesting once we are there because we will be able to share firsthand accounts of what is going on. Plus, we will be able to answer many of the questions you all have asked. So stay tuned in!
