Moses of the San

original(12)We are excited to learn that God has been working to have His WORD translated into the 9 different San languages. Yes, there are 9 different languages among the San. This is why we were told to wait to learn any language. We need to learn the San language in Tsumkwe, Namibia.

The Seed Company started back in 2013 a project to craft 18 Bible stories for oral retelling in each of the 9 languages. This will be the first Scripture for most of these languages. They hope to have Bible storytellers from each of the San groups trained to craft stories into their own languages and tell them effectively. Making Bible stories available to San groups in their own language and in a familiar, easily transferable media will offer an anchor of hope to those lost in a sea of change. It will provide a foundation of truth about God, His love for them, and their identity as His precious children.

Meet Anton, a Khwedam San in Botswana. A dream gave Anton access to the Bible. Now it’s his dream to make sure others have the same opportunity to read, to hear and to know Scripture, driving them to glorify God for their unique cultural identity and“love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. – Romans 12:10 (NLT).  Please take the time to watch this 5 minute video: Moses of the San.

  1. That is so awesome! Will you be able to help with that in any way? I’m sure when it is complete it will be a tremendous help to you as you reach out to the San people!

    1. Michelle,
This video was shot in Botswana but we have been told they have just wrapped up getting a few stories translated in the dialect and village we will be living in which will be a great help to us as we teach the SAN these stories. We won’t be able to help in the translation as we will just be learning how to carry on a basic conversation. These stories will be of big help though. J
