Lame or Perseverance

Everyone’s name usually has a negative and positive meaning. Claudia means lame or perseverance. It is my choice to decide, if I want to follow my own way and end up lame or have faith in the Lord’s way to develop perseverance in me.

I must confess that on Monday, March 30th I hesitated to write my letter of resignation to Lowe’s. Without going into details, something happened and I didn’t. The very next morning I woke up with a sore throat which was the start of being sick. Today, would have been my last day as a Lowe’s employee. I have walked 1000’s of miles at Lowe’s over the past 7 years. Tuesday, I walked for just 5.5 hours but by the time I got home my right foot was killing me. Wednesday, I limped through my hours at Lowe’s and a co-worker told me I needed to go to the doctor. Thursday morning, I went to the Great Physician in prayer asking why I was still coughing and now my foot was throbbing in pain. He basically said I wasn’t trusting Him fully, I needed to resign from Lowe’s and not wait any longer. I had chosen to be lame. This is the second time in my life I have pushed my body until it is physically lame. God does get through my stubbornness to teach me.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Hebrews 12:1

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trails of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4

Wanted to say thank you for following our journey to Africa. You are a great cloud of witnesses. I am throwing off my sin of hesitating and will resign this coming Monday. I chose perseverance so that I can run the race marked out for us and God can finish His work.
