The longer I (Jeremy) live the more perspective I gain on life. (Profound I know :)). I recently was reunited with a song while driving but my perspective on life has changed a little since I last heard it. (See statement above). The past 2 years Claudia and I have been praying for direction in our lives and God provided clarity last April when we were appointed full time missionaries with AIM. Along with that acceptance comes the task of de-cluttering and downsizing our American lifestyle and selling and giving up some of our earthly acquired treasures. Not only do we have to say goodbye to things but also loved ones and pets for a period of time. However, I was reminded by Aaron Shust in his song “Live to Lose” that it isn’t mine to lose or gain. A shift in my perspective. (Guess I’m getting older) Below are the lyrics take a minute and contemplate on them.
Take my life, take it all
I lay it at Your throne
I am rich, satisfied
When I am Yours alone
I have learned to live to lose
I have found my home in You
I count it all as lose, it’s true
‘Cause I have learned to live to lose
Precious One, crucified
Died to set me free
I hold nothing back from You
Who gave it all for me
I have learned to live to lose
I have found my home in You
I count it all as lose, it’s true
‘Cause I have learned to live to lose
Jesus You’re the One, You’re the only One for me
Jesus You’re the One, You’re the only One for me
Jesus You’re the One, You’re the only One for me
Jesus You’re the One, You’re the only One for me
I have learned to live to lose
I have found my home in You
I count it all as lose, it’s true
I have learned to live
Yes, I have learned to live to lose
I have learned to live to lose
