Happy New Year to all. Just wanted to give a quick update about the trip this summer. I’ve been making phone calls and trying to get a clear understanding of what a trip back will look like this summer. I have a little bit more clarity. By the way things are going well as far as bible translation as I talked to the team last week.
So Anastasia and I will be heading back to Tsumkwe for about 3 weeks this summer. We will be renting a 4×4 camper vehicle which will allow us to camp and travel to visit villages. We have room for 3 more adults to join us. We will spend the first part of our time creating new stories and just reconnecting and possibly do some training in Tsumkwe. Then we will head out to the villages with these new stories and also the translated passion film. What could you do if you went on this trip? Great question. I see the need to have someone record via video the trip especially the story parts, we also need someone to help record various songs in the village and the stories and put those on the solar players. I also need someone to type up the back translations of the stories so we have a paper copy. I will provide training for all of this, it isn’t hard but would be nice to have a few extra hands around. Also you would experience what storying is all about and just your presence to encourage young believers would be great. As with any mission trip I know other needs will pop up and so we will respond accordingly.
Another short term group will be coming in August behind us and they will be doing backyard bible club type things so we won’t be doing that.
Cost should be under $4000 (airfare dependent) and the time table would be late June to early July.
